TRD Racing's History
Team TRD Racing all started when local Dalton Johnson's dad bought a 1981 Ford Mustang in 2007 to race for fun a couple of times a year. This team was under the personna of Team Crown Racing up until 2008 when Jake handed the operation for the Hornet down to 15 year old Dalton. Dalton, quickly realizing that this was a lot of work for a one man operation, Hired a long time good friend, 14 year old Robbie Barrie. Together, they have made dreams into reality. "We still have a lot of work ahead of us, but i think that we can get it done, go out there, and win a few races." Commented Robbie Barrie. Dalton, wanting to get the operation rolling for the end of the 2008 race season, realized that was just too much work, hung it up for the year. "I think my dad is just testing me on how well I would be able to own and manage a race team. What I don't think he realized is that i would hire someone to help me do it." Says Johnson. "We got started a lot earlier this year so we can have this ready for the 2009 racing season." Dalton Johnson will be the Driver for TRD Racing in 2009, with Robbie turning the wrenches. They are looking forward to a great and fun season.
